This is obvious, but it is worth recalling it: the race to quantum computing is a marathon, not a sprint. There is a lot of noise about it in the media right now, and some people suggest that quantum computing would be in vogue, just like blockchain, big data or virtual reality... But we are still a long way off!
In a tribune, Christopher Monroe, CEO of IonQ, points out how quantum computing is a marathon. It took decades to move from theory to first practical applications. Things will accelerate in the coming years, and we will move from theory to practice. But those who are thinking of buying a “quantum iPhone” by five years from now are seriously mistaken about the time scale.

By listening to the alarmist media, which amplify the potential threat of collapse of encryption techniques, the situation becomes absurd. Even though quantum computers capable of breaking the security of the blockchain, crypto currencies or financial transactions, do not yet exist... some would have already developed the solution. Thus Quube Exchange, would have developed a blockchain resistant to quantum computers attacks... which do not yet exist!
More seriously, this week, the Quantum Summit in Toronto will focus on security. This event is organized by NXM Labs.
